ENGLISH ABSTRACT

“Aesthetic Week” as didactic design for teacher students’ development of professional identity

The report Aesthetic learning processes in primary teacher education shows that aesthetic learning processes are poorly integrated in teacher education. We examined how the theme week “Aesthetic Week” facilitated the first-year teacher students’ development of competence in integrating aesthetic learning processes in teaching, and how the students experience that the didactic design has contributed to their understanding of being teachers. Through thematic analysis of 100 teacher students’ reflection letters, and an analysis of how “Aesthetic Week” was designed, we found that the theme week contributed to prospects for an autonomous teaching role, a normative understanding of aesthetic learning processes as good teaching in all subjects, and a counterweight to traditional teaching in primary school.
ER -
